The Super Bowl is by far the largest single opportunity to reach a mass audience. KCCI had a 30-second promo in the game. I challenged the team to make a clear brand promo for ‘Iowa’s News Leader’ with captivating visuals.
What to Wear
Viewers trust meteorologists with experience in their area. We were challenged to introduce someone with a great on-air presence and meteorological knowledge but no mid-western experience. We promised what any viewer would believe about Kelly Moody. She was here to prepare viewers for the day, starting with deciding what to wear.

It takes 25 seconds for the elevator to travel between floors at KCCI. In this small space, we created an environment that deepens the knowledge of our mission for colleagues and guests.
Electable Branding
Every station can claim to have the most in-depth political coverage, the best interviews, and the fastest results. Rather than chasing the rest, our election approach focused on advocating for viewers and promising trusted information from a news team that understands their needs. Viewership was strong, our reputation was enhanced, and the campaign was nominated for a regional Emmy Award.
